It will go on fine. I brushed mine, and they look great. I used a high speed "dremel" type tool to polish the letters. Sorry no pics handy. Good luck.

I didn't use the Duplicolor kit on mine, but if it works like mine did, the paint will dry to a nice, smooth coat on the calipers.

Used the duplicolor on mine. Ditch the brushes that come with the kit and get some cheap artist brushes from Wal Mart. Other than that, just follow the instructions.

Pretty much the same advise here. I used my dremel tool with small wire wheels to clean the calibers, three coats of paint, small fine file to clean the letters.

Ditch the small file - I just did it myself this past weekend, and the best way to remove the paint that gets on the "Corvette" letters is a SHARP razor blade - the razor blade will easily remove the paint on the letters only in less than 5 minutes per side -

I was a dis-believer myself and I wondered how I was going to get the paint off the letters till I tried the razor blade - I highly recommend it. I thought I might take an emery board (like women use on their nails) once I finished w/ the razor blade, but no need to do that.

I just did mine two days ago with the kit. I recommend (but it isn't necessary) buying a decent brush. Also, to make the paint come off the letters even easier (i.e. you can scrape it off with your fingernail!) rub some chapstick on the letters before you paint. When you're all done, spray the whole caliper with some high temp clear paint. Piece of cake.

Worked great for me, you'll see brush strokes at first, but it'll smooth out. I did end up ditching the brush that came with the kit for a slightly less cheap brush

For the letters, a couple swipes with a file will clean off the whole word. Make sure the cleaner has completely evaporated/dried before you start painting too.

My only word of caution is - that paint will stain anything it comes in contact with, more so than any other paint I've seen - there's no washing it off, so wear your "play clothes"

Where do you guys get these brush-on Duplicolor kits? I have looked at touch paints at Walmart and GI Joe and never noticed said kits. Do they come with a candy apple red to better match my Mag Red II than the normal bright red? Thanks. Jon

I used that kit on my C4 and the paint held up really well. As stated by someone else, get some better brushes. I plan on getting another kit for my C5. There seems to be enough paint in there to easily paint the rotors on about 3 or 4 cars. I'm buying black and sharing the cost and paint with a friend. I can afford it on my own. I am just cheap.

Default drying time

mid america sells 2 paint kits, one that states something about epoxy in on of the kits. Anyone know which is better and how long is the drying time for either kit. Another suggestion for lettering would be vasiline applied with a QTIP before painting to keep paint of lettering.

I found the Duplicolor kit at Advance Auto something similar. The standard colors are red, blue, yellow, black and silver. I think it runs about $14.00 a box. One box is more than enough for one or two, possibly three vehicles.
