What's up all.......... spring is in the air, time for corvette fever to kick into high gear.
Anyway, my question is this. I have a Borla stinger exhaust system and shorty headers. I love the way my car sounds!! My mechanic told me that my stock H pipe is cracked at the weld. So I want to change it with an X pipe. I have read how is "quiets" the car, and makes it much more "tame". Is this True? Will I lose that borla sound I have come to luv? Is there any benefit to having an x pipe? Or should I just fix my stock one?
i've got a borla xpipe and the borla straight pipes (no mufflers) and when i put the x pipe on it actually gave it a meaner sound. I dont think you'll be dissappointed, plus on ebay there are places that have the borla xpipe for 212.00 with free shipping.
IMHO....Bassani makes by far and away the best "X". Take a look at the center sections of the ones you are looking at and you can see that the Bassani's center section is specially made and the largest, and scavenges side to side the best of any.........as to how quiet it makes the car? Not at all ---- only when you take your foot off of the gas, or between shifts, will it change things --- your car will not pop and snap like it did before, which was VERY attractive to me.
The rest of the time, the "X" will make the exhaust pulses even from side to side, and add HP to the mix too. I especially like the sound at idle, as it also gets rid of the motorboat sound of the stock "H". You will love the "X"............BTW, I have the Corsa Indy's with my Bassani.
Try Ecklers for a good price on the Bassani............

I have Stingers with a Borla x-pipe and I still get some popping when I down shift or when I am in a lower gear at high RPM's and I rev it a little. Still sounds very
I guess I should buy one. Bassani or Borla........ If it does not work out, you will all be able to buy a brand new X-PIPE on ebay with in a week.......
I've had a Bassini X for about a year. The reason I bought it was due to the flange on the driver's side tail pipe breaking off (defective weld). It does help the popping sound somewhat. Good luck..
