Got my car back form KTR Performance a couple days ago. Mods I had before the cam was installed was a vararam intake, 80mm BBK throttle body, Borla headers, and diablo sport ECU flash. With those mods the car made 350.3 rwhp on a dyno dynamics machine (not the same as a dyno jet). After the cam was installed he did an initial run with just the cam and no updated program form diablo sport and it made 370 rwhp. I was a little disappointed with the results, but After a week or so i got the upgraded program from diablo sport. The first run with the new program was 392, and by the end of the night it was consistantly hitting 400+, when all was said and done it came home with 403.4 rwhp. It was worth the wait for that program I was pleased with the results.
In the future I plan on taking it to a dyno jet to see the differance in the #'s. It's hard to compare my car to other peoples car because not a lot of places use a dyno dynamics. Well I'll be sure to post the #'s when I get it on a dyno jet. Take care all.
Should make a quite a few more ponies on the Dynojet. The dyno you used is probably similar to the Mustang dyno which takes weight and other things into account.
The only mods I have are the ones I listed in the original post. Vararam, BBK throttle body, Diablo sport program, and borla headers.
Kappa I'm not familiar with the mustang dyno, but it's probably very similar to the dyno dynamics. I asked Franz the guy who tuned my car if there was a way to figure out estimated HP from a dyno dynamics to a dyno jet. He told me a rough estimate would be to multiply by 1.18. So 403 x 1.18 is around 475. I guess we will see for sure when Iget it on a dyno jet.
He had a stock Z06 on his dyno and he said it made around 300 rwhp wich is a big differance from what you see on a dyno jet 360-365.
I had mine Dynoed on a Mustang Dyno. It was turning out 373hp and 373tq to the rear on a mustang. I then did a dyno run on a Dyno Jet and turned out 405hp and 401tq to the tire on that machine. That is without a nice Cam, so I am sure you are putting down about 25 more to the tire with a Dyno Jet.
I followed your earlier posts about what cam to get before you decided on this one. How does it drive for you? Is it exactly what you wanted or do you wish you would have went with the x2?
Hey EBM,
I'm glad I went with this cam, although the car doesn't run as smooth as the stock cam. At low rpm's you can feel the car bucking a bit, but nothing major and the car is still fun to drive. It's a litte bit of a pain in stop and go traffic, but I'll get used to it. I was really pleased with the hp gain though. If I had to decide again I would go with this cam.
Also I doubt the car was out of tune before the cam went in. The car stock on a dyno dynamics made 307 rwhp. with vararam and diablo predator flash it made 327 rwhp. Then I added a 80 mm throttle body and borla headers and and got 350 rwhp. Then with the cam and an upgraded diablo predator tune it made 403 rwhp.
