Default New cars

Took my C5 to the dealer for service this morning and while I was waiting for my ride, I had a chance to take a look at the new C6's. Anyway, to make a long story short, I kept looking at my car and then back at the C6's they had outside. You might find this strange but after seeing them up close, I would never trade or sell my C5 to pay 20K more for the new C6. Even the salesman said my car looked better.

And what’s with all the orange peel in the paint of these new cars.

Don't mean to bash but I just can't understand how GM would let these cars out of the factory with all that orange peel on em. The stock C5 paint is so much better.

I won't trade my C5 for a new. May trade one of my other cars, but the C5 is a keeper.

The C5s have the orange peel too. I'd like a C6, but I'm like you - not at a 20K or more price difference. My C5 still is a fine car and turns heads.

Default Orange Peel

I am new to this...just bought my '04 vert in October '05. I agree as well...drove an '05 and just did not like the styling or cockpit. Love the C5! Now for my question....what is orange peel in the paint?

I guess I'm spoiled with my cars paint job. But even before the repaint I don't remember seeing that much orange peel on it.

Look at the paint finsh in the sunlight, then look at it at an angle.. You should see small ripples in the paint that look like the skin of an orange.

Love my C5, but sure would like to have the new 6 speed auto with the paddle shifters.
