It Was A Good Day
Took the Vette out of storage yesterday (haven't driven her since 11/15/05). Dropped the Sears DieHard battery in and she fired up immediately. Decided to go to Jiffy Lube for a oil change. Got there at 10am. The manager said they'd run out of Mobil 1 and were expecting a delivery at 2pm. Came back at 2pm and was told the M 1 delivery had not shown up. The manager told me to go accross the street to Wal-Mart, buy the Mobil 1 and he'd change the oil for free. It was a deal ya can't ignore. So, for about $40 (I bought a Mobil 1 oil filter for $10) I got my oil changed. BTW, Mobil 1 in a 5 qt. jug was $20.87 at Wal-Mart.

Ever since Jiffy Lube thrashed my wife's Subaru several years back I refuse to do any business with them. My wife was trying to be proactive, she had a trip from DC to CT planned over a weekend and wen tthere for an oil change prior to the trip (350 miles one way). She made it to CT fine, but on her eway back the oil drain plug fell out while she was on I-95. dumped all of the oil right there. Thankfully Ms Cid pulled over and shut down immediately so no permanent damage was done. In their defense, Jiffly Lube did spring for hotel, towing and all other expenses surrounding the incident (including a year's worth of oil changes w/ Mobil 1). However, shoddy service will never get my repeat business.
