After 30 yrs of wanting a Vette, I finally bought one this February. 1998 Triple Black convertible.
I do have some questions,
1) What should be the first mods?
2) How to most folks detail around the Corvette flags on the trunk and hood? I will have to make up for a few yrs of neglect in that area.
I am sure there will be many more questions but this is a small start.
To answer your questions though Intake (a lot of opinions on what is best) and exhaust (B&B or Borla stinger if you want loud and lots of pony's or corsa if you want your hearing.)

Exhaust plate, lower on stock bolts and use q-tips!

First mods are usually something like cat back exhausts, new wheels/tires or a new air intake (Blackwing, Stinger, etc). Just depends on how much money you want to spend and what you want for the car (appearance or performance).

First of all, welcome to the greatest group of people you'll ever want to meet, Corvette owners!! As for the first thing to do? Join A Corvette Club! I did, and it was the BEST thing I did (Right after buying the Vette!) you'll make a whole new group of friends, get to see just about every mod you could ever want, and then decide which you would like to try. I recommend the intake and exhaust as the first areas to improve, and go on from there!
1st mod for a vert should always be a Window Valet
because it's inexpensive, easy to install and configure and
most important - Fun.
Cleaning use a small detail brush and detail spray.
Congrats, don't wipe that grin off your face, and
don't forget to

I waited almost 40 for my 02 triple black (almost bought 66 new). If you have MN6, you also want to make sure you have CAGS bypass ($20) and Column Lock Bypass ($50). Chances are you already have these from prev owner(s). Another MN6 mod would be a new shifter. This is a personal choice, mine is a C6 shifter ($200) although I have a C6Z06 shifter ($200) in the box waiting to go in. You'll get plenty of opinions here. Also, if you have stock wagon wheels, there are a lot of options.
