can someone tell me more about the column lock and what causes it?? what years? how can I tell if the by pass has been completed?
Re read WWK888's post. It pretty much covers which cars and what happens. Also, a search on this forum will bring up so many threads on this topic that you'll be an expert by the time you read them all.
To find out status of your vehicle, drop by a GM dealer service dept. Have them input your VIN into computer system. It will print out all recalls performed on that VIN (and much more). No charge for this service.

thank you all soo much for this grand information .. !! . it's just a freaking shame that everyone has to struggle with this issues . and yet . even the dealer/stealers around here . have no FIIIIIIIIIIINGGG clue what to do . or they simply pass the buck onto someone else..
I go my vette back yesturday but i am not confident that they even fixed the problem as my wheel still locks up when its off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. i shall print out the new Feb 2006 recall and march back to the dealer !!
oh and i know the lawyer some what that was able to get the seat belt .....recall initiated .. that is an issue . .. .. product liability case .. the specific i dont remember but he did tell me to get that fixed as well.
