Unfortunately i just received a stone chip in the windshield.
I live in Dayton OH. Does anyone know of a good place around here to take it to get repaired?

Find a auto glass shop that does windshield chip repairs - they should be able to patch it up for you and your insurance company may cover the cost and waive the deductible.
You could also add $0 deductible glass coverage (for sticker shock, check the price of the windshield and/or back glass) for about $1/month on top of your current comprehensive coverage...
i just had my windshield replaced because of that
had safelite do it. i must say they did a great job even replaced the weather stripping that goes around the window.(full glass insurance)
safelite is a national unit should have one near you.
Just a heads up.......everytime you "USE" your insurance coverage, a little flag goes on your insurance record. Even those small stone chips that everyone believes the insurance company fixes for "FREE", well it isn't true.
I haven't had a claim in years on my auto insurance company. When I shopped around to find better and cheaper insurance, my agent asked me if I had any claims. I said no.
He comes back to me and says.........you have about 4 or 5 stonechip repairs in your history which will cost you $120.00 more per year. he told me, (my agent who is a vette nut also) said to pay for the small stone chips out of pocket 20.00 bucks or so and to only use the insurance for MAJOR. If the windshield is cracked..........by all means get it repaired or replaced.
I had a windshield company waiting outside my Chevrolet Dealer when I took the car in for a recall. They examined it while the service writer checked it in. They found a small chip and asked me if I wanted it fixed, no paperwork, no hassle, they will take care of everything. Sure.....why not?
But these free repairs cost you down the road. If it is just a stonechip, small enough I pay for it myself. Just my thoughts and what I found out when I thought I was getting "FREE" windshield repairs.
