In my sig the tires I'm running are Michelin Pilot Sports. The side walls are very short and look very sporty. I ended up putting a BFG g-force on the back a few months ago and the side walls are pretty tall. I don't like that look to much. It's time to replace the front tires and I was wondering what is a decently priced tire that has a short side wall?
I was thinking about just putting matching tires up front since I may sell the car soon. Would that be the way to go?
I wouldn't mix brands - it can cause some handling problems.
I've always read it is best to keep the tires consistent front to back. All though the mixing I've always been most concerned about is run flat, non-runflat just due to the vast differences in construction of the types of tires.
I would just match up the fronts to the rears and call it a day.

What are the current sizes of the wheels (width and diameter) that you are running. Sidewall height is a function of the aspect ratio of the tire - not of the tire brand.
If you are running the stock size in front - 245-45x17, that middle number (45) means that the sidewall is 45% of the width of the tire. So, if you get a lower profile tire (lower number), that will reduce the height of the sidewall - but it will also reduce the overall height of the tire.
Selecting the right size tire, to maintain the stagger (difference between the height of the rear tires and the front tires) is dependent on the wheel sizes that you are running. In order to help you make the right choice - we need more information. I can see from your sig pic - that you are running CCW 505a's. But what are the sizes? And what size are the tires in back?
I agree with Paul (Talon90) in that I don't think it's a good idea to mix types and brands of tires, although a lot of people do it without any apparent side effects.
I'm going to be running a 275 x 30 x 19 in the front. I understand the profile information. However if you where to look at the rear tires of my car when I had Michelin Pilot sports and then the BFG g Force, even though they are both 30 series tires, the sidewalls of the BFG's are much taller then the Michelins. I do not know why, but they are. So I was just asking if any one knew what tires have lower profile tires over others.
Sounds odd I know, but the difference is very noticable. Any way, I think I will just go w/ the cheap BFG's for now since I may be selling it soon.
