1. column lock.. has the owner installed a column lock bypass? if not you will... cost $50 DIY or $500 at the dealer
2. does it have the digital disply A/C and is it bright and readable? If it is dim it needs to be repaired $50 DIY... or $750 at the dealer
3. remote door lock, unlock or intermittent.... a $2 relay DIY or $700+ at the dealer
4. the computer is mounted under the battery... if it leaks and frys the computer it costs you $1000.
If it leaks and corrodes wires, grounds etc... it causes neverending electrical gremlins... replace the battery ASAP with a spiral cell or AGM type battery
5. On the test drive if it sounds like the tires are from a 10 ton truck with nylon belt snow tires... that means you have the stock EMT's ( runflats) their side wall is very stiff and causes a lot of road noise.
A must read is the sticky at the top of C5 general called weights, measures, ratios etc.... it identiifes the major C5 issues and fixes.
The sticky at the top of the C5 tech section on CLB is also a must read.
Ask the standard stuff, what oil is in the transmission and rear diff and engine and when last changed, when was the rad flushed, etc
here's a checklist
