What sorta fuel do you guys use over the states?
Over here the cheapest fuel we get is 95 ron, would it make any diffence if i was to use 97/98 ron petrol or even 100ron Optimax?

Sorry we go by octane here and i dont know how those numbers translate. In California 91 octane is the best I can buy at the pump.

The following might help (or confuse)

In the United States, pump octane is an average of 2 ratings, research octane (RON) and motor octane (MON). If you look at any gas pump in the United States, you will see a yellow sticker that says "octane by R + M / 2" That is the basic formula for an average. These 2 numbers mean different things. You could make an analogy to that of a blood pressure reading (systolic and diastolic). Research Octane number is always higher than Motor Octane number.

In Europe, they only report the RON. You may hear people discussing that in Europe, the octane is higher. Well, that is not exactly true. You see, in Europe, you might find 96 octane at a local gas station. (wow 96, highest we have here is 94). Well, that 96 is equivalent to 92 here in the States.

I run a 50/50 mix of 91 R+M and 101 R+M for my 11.3:1 427 MTI motor. It is tuned for 93 but I can't buy it here. That gives me around 96 blended or so. Just a little safety margin for my modded motor.

The great thing is I can buy it from the pump as we have a local dirt track. Only 3.99/Gal for 101 unleaded. I fill my car up only once per month or so, maybe even less so the added expence is no big deal to me. Its not a daily driver. Smells good burning also
