I thought I was a bit obsessive with my corvette collection, but the car covers for the die casts...you beat me.

Well until today... now I'm there.

I washed, waxed and detailed all my diecasts and then put their new little car covers on them

Wonder what's next
Turbocharging all of these along with other misc. mods could get quite expensive. How's the insurance?

OOOOOOOOOOO... never thought of that !!!!!!! Gotta tell you I was laughing pretty hard as I put their little covers on. Maybe I'll take them down and have them embroidered with the appropriate year emblems... hmmmmmmmm.

Also, I am gathering shop stuff from 1:18 scale dioramas however..... you know..just in case there is a flat.. or when they need service

They are to cool but I don't want to hide my collection so how can I clean the inside of them. Wonder if the dishwasher would melt the windows and other plastic pieces? I have soaked them in dishwasher detergent and warm water but it doesn't clean all of the dust/dirt.

You seem perfectly normal to me! BTW did you take the tires off so you could Q-tip the wheel wells with ArmorAll?

I use a sponge paint brush and a soft keyboard brush to do the the interior. Since they are flexible it allows me to do the inside of the windshield which gets a haze on it.

Thats a great idea for the Monopoly Board. I have the Vette edition as well and was trying to figure out a way to display it. You do it yourself or did you you have it done?

WOW!!! Very cool! My wife tries to make me dust my die cast cars. I tape them down with duct tape and then I use the leaf blower on 'em! She hates it when I start that gas powered blower in the house, I say open a window and quit yelling at me - geez!

My wife is not even interested in riding in mine. She's never been in it. My wifes feeling is, a car is a mode of transportation to get her from point A to B and back. Nothning more...nothning less.

A. Yes I use just plain water on the inside.. a lot of time just the plain dry sponge brush will do it.

B. Yes I did the Monopoly shadow box myself here is a closer look http://www.starstogether.tierranet.c...e/monopoly.jpg
I sent you a PM... email me and I'll walk you thru it. It really isnt hard.

C. To those of you who's signifiant other doesnt understand your passion... I do understand... mine is my #1 lifetime dream... ever since I was a small child. I told my kids not to make me choose between the car and them... they dont stand a chance Mine is truely a member of the family.

My Wife is more **** about her vette than I am of mine. I let her drive my car, but she doesn't let anyone drive her's.

Every mod I have on my Z06 - she ordered and paid someone to install. While I was in Japan, she ordered my Maggie and had it installed in my Z06. She has it bad!!!

I'll make sure she doesn't see this post about diecast's w/ car covers, she'll want some for sure!

Hmmm, I wouldn't trade her for nothin!
