Default I Have a Question...

Ok i heard this about the older model vettes, but was wondering if this applys to the 99 vettes. When you lift or jack the car up, do you have to open the doors to keep the fiberglass body from breaking? thanks

Nope, the C5 is much stiffer and can be lifted from the side (at any of the 4 lift points) without significant body flex.

Ok thanks, were would those lift points be, i just bought my 1st vette about 1 month ago, and it didnt come with a owners manual, so i need to know where to jack the car up. I am planing on painting the brake calipers this weekend.

Just open the windows when lifting. That's what the dealer said to me when I asked.

ok thanks, i just bought some black z06 wheels, and i think the calipers would look good red.

Nope it doesn't apply. That is left over from the old days. For the record, the C5 isn't fiberglass either.

, my old C4 used to flex big time, not so the C5.
