Default HVAC programmer module

I have a 1997 C5 coupe that the HVAC fan runs continuously, even after the key is removed from the ignition. According to the GM service manual, the diagnostic decision tree (pg. 1-118) reveals that one should disconnect the “HVAC programmer module connector”.

My problem is that the component location listing, nor the connector end view sections, nor the disassembly/assembly descriptions reveal the location of this connector or the actual module. 

From a helpful post prior to this, I was informed that this HVAC programmer module is the problem and that there had been a TSB released on this very problem in the past. According to the TSB, there is a problem with the software of the CJ2 HVAC control assembly. Anyone successfully managed this problem in the past?

Any advice, diagrams, pictures or detailed descriptions would be helpful as the replacement part is quite costly and I would hate to replace it unnecessarily. The GM part number for this module is 09356081 according to the TSB.

Any help is always greatly appreciated!
