C6 vs C6Z06 shifter
There have been many posts on these but I don't think I saw a direct comparison. I have had the std C6 shifter on my 02 triple black for 6 mos and really liked it. When the C6Z06 shifter came out, I bought one to try, and finally switched it out yesterday.
Std C6 1-2 travel (top center of ****) 4.75 in; C6Z06 3.75. Overall feel is tighter and notchier esp 2-3 shift. Missed my first 3-4 shift, running into the gate stop. Felt better driving to work today with no missed shifts and getting used to the subtle differences (emphasis on subtle). Is it a 35% shorter throw, as advertized? I don't feel it. Will test for another month and then sell one or the other.
If you already have the C6 shifter, no real gains to be made.

Thanks for the comparison. I installed on of the first C6 shifters in my C5 and love it. Wondered if there were substantial gains in the Z06 shifter, and you answered the question.
