Default Traction control heating up????

I got this message last night along with the check enginge light coming on. I just cleared the message. This morning the check engine light is still on. What is this message? Do I need to have it serviced?

The two are probably unconnected. Try reading the codes as suggested for the check-engine warning and, also, read your your owner's manual for the traction control warming up message. There's a wealth of information in there just waiting to be read.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but I got my car out of winter storage and got these messages also. Turned out it was the battery being almost dead. Replaced the battery and problem solved.

Possible. I did just replace my battery a few months ago. But I guess it could be a crappy one. Should I just clear all of the codes and see if they come back? Or would that be a bad idea?

Don't panic... Please remain calm and in your seats...

The system does a self check every now and then.... while it does the check, the message will appear. It's normal...

We now return you to Gilligan's Island, already in progress...
