Have any of you installed the lights from specter works in a Z06, I guess or even a C5. I am doing my install currently and am discovering the fitment is definitely not perfect! Anyone else experience this? Any feedback would be gratly appreciated. Does anyone know of a link or have instructions!
all of the non pop up kits get complaints of poor fitment. Its just the nature of the beast. Did you upgrade to thier HIDs or no?
I am waiting for my C5R lights to be delivered. How long have you had yours? They were "supposed" to be redesigning them, so they would fit better initially. I talked with them about a week ago and I was #5 on the list. They were waiting on the "projecters", the buckets were ready.

Love the look of them, but I refuse to pay that kind of $$ on headlights that were designed poorly.
If they get their act into gear, and spend some time to design them properly, then I'll buy a set.
My car looks almost exactly like Cobra4B. I got the headlights last year and installed them, I was a little disappointed in the quality for the money I paid. It seems to me the high beams work great, but the low beams are very hard to aim and IMO don't project a lot of light. I would have to say my piaa fog lights offer more light. I mostly got them because I like the look. Mine are painetd black like cobra4B. I painted them from the inside so the paint wouldnt chip. Also bought a carbon fiber hood (stock style) to go with the lights, kept the hood black.
Has anyone tried the lights from Max Acceleration (I think that's correct)?
Supposedly someone formerly with Spectreworks who went off on his own and built a better quality C5R-style light....

Most definately a 5-footer mod... love 'em though.
Are you able to drive at night? I had one non pop-up head light from ebay, and it is terrible experience with me. Can not drive at night.Originally Posted by Cobra4B

I am having the Guys at Maximum Acceleration take out my Spectre Works lights and have theirs installed today. Will report back with pics and comparison data.

As for night driving... yeah I drive all the time. I have a 4300k HID kit in the mail right now to make it amazing. These projector beam housings are made for HID not halogen. W/ halogen the do suck.

Thank you all for your replies to my original post. I don't feel as bad now knowing that others are going through the same problems. I was not sure if it was something to do with the fact that I have a Z06, maybe designed only for C5 or something.
To answer some questions from previous replies - I bought the kit used so I am not sure how old they are. It is zenon low beam and halogem high beam. I have heard that if you only have halogen you will most likely not be able to drive at night. It just is not bright enough - good incentive to get zenon.

I've had halogens in for the whole time I've had mine... yes they suck, but for the past 2+ years it's managable.Originally Posted by ELECTRONBLUE02Z06

I doubt that, they are just crappy projectors, being that the zenons are so much more brighter it makes them seem better but i dont think they were designed for hids or a hid style bulb would fit in there and not one retrofitted to fit a 9006 openingOriginally Posted by Cobra4B

A few have asked about Max Acceleration and hopefully, I can answer some questions. First, they are in the process of becoming a supporting vendor. Yes, Scott from S.W. is the owner. While at Specter, he had to do what he was told and as many of you are aware, there was some problems. A result of that has lead Scott to start Max Acc.
The C5R lights are similar to S.W. in looks. Scott has listened to everyones complaints over the years about the quality and other misc. problems everyone had with the design. He has COMPLETELY re-designed and re-tooled these lights. Fit and finish are now perfect, install is easier, and they are a lot more adjustable. They are also in the process with a few H.I.D. mfgs, trying to find a company that makes them to their specs and will work correctly with the lights. Iv'e personally known Scott for many many years and know that he will go out of his way and bend over backwards to give terrific customer service. For all that know me, know how **** I am about my car and thats why I jumped ship and stand behind Scott and his products. Give him a chance and you will see. Their website is still fairly new and being updated with more and better pics. but will get you in touch with them. I believe they are also in the process of putting together a group purchase after they become a supporting vendor. I will keep everyone up to date when I hear.
For those interested, they also are now offering the widebody kit I have pictured below, except now its not an "in house only kit" and you can have your own bodyman do the work and paint or Im sure they will be happy to do it for you

^ Awesome that they "fixed" the kit. If I didn't have mine allready I'd spring for some new ones. They aren't offering a trade-in program are they?
