Glad to hear your experience with Beans worked out and no damage to the car's body!

I must assume the ricer didn't stop right?

He stopped about 25 yeards down the off-ramp. When he saw me get out of the vehicle and that I looked alright he took off. Since the whole thing came out to less than $1000 I never called the insurance. No need to have my rates jacked because of an idiot...

I give all my Corvette parts business to Gene and Jeremy at Fred Beans Chevrolet. Their prices are very competitive (best I've seen), their shipping is reasonable and their customer service and willingness to answer any questions I have is outstanding! They are a great resource for the membership on this forum. Keep up the great work!

I wanted to return a LS6 manifold I bought from Gene a couple days after receiving it because I found one cheaper, and he wanted to charge me 20% re stocking fee. I dont think I even opened the box at that point, but I kept it

bought a new Z06 sway bar from him also. Came in the mail unwrapped and scratched up pretty damn good. I spoke with Gene and he said there is nothing he could do because even though I ordered it from him, it didnt get shipped from his dealership. It looked used, but was not. I had to sand and paint it.

Before they tried to auction 06Z06 brake calipers, they had great prices and specials every month, you dont see those posts anymore.

I'd be curious to see if anyone else tried to return stuff to him.
I bought something else from him, and no problems. They really had solid pricing until the auction thing, then you havent heard from them as much.

The price was alway right , but this was my experience.

Good Evening,
I thank you kindly for your explanation. I have often wondered why you post negative comments about myself and the business. I don't understand a couple of things.

The intake. I have only charged a 20% restocking fee probably less than 5 times in 6 + years of the internet business. With that said, I certainly would not do that with something that I stock, for sure. How long ago was this??

The sway bars. Those are a fun thing to talk about. We still get them every day scratched, shipped UPS or FedEx from GM without packing! In the older days (3 years ago?) we didn't ship sway bars with bubble wrap but have since learned that lesson. Again, how long ago was this?

As far as the auction goes... I let everyone know within a couple of days what my purpose was. Our dealerships ended up raising 85,000 + dollars for the furnishing of a new day car center in MS.

I am happy you are observant. You correct that I have not been around, haven't been posting specials, etc. That doesn't mean I'm not the same guy who takes care of all of the forum members! Just as an FYI, about 3/4 of the way through the year last year our valued internet parts business became much much larger and more than what we were staffed for.

As soon as the new year passed Mr. Beans offered me to start up my own new department as an internet department based operation only! Mid to late January I accepted the position and we have been doing a lot of things behind the scenes since. We had to hire and train 2 new people so that I could take Jeremy along with me and start up the internet business.

The last couple of months have been concentrated on getting ready to start the internet parts department and going through and trying to improve processes. We are expecting to start June 1st in the new department and serving our internet customers ONLY! That's a huge commitment on a lot of peoples' parts.

In the end, I ask you to allow me to serve you one more time. Give me the chance to meet your expectations once more. I offer you free shipping on that order and please call and talk to me about it personally. I would certainly appreciate it!

Thank you,
Gene

You vote with your wallets and the vendors know it. This forum is a very powerful venue. The post above is a great example of a vendor trying to make things right. They'll have my vote if I'm in the need in the future. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I've had several good experiences, one problem too which was taken care of in a fair and expedient way.
