Default Which One Is Louder?

Which exhaust would be louder?

BORLA STRAIGHT PIPES?

SLP LOUDMOUTH?

I have the Tis on with the rest of my system, but the tips are not lining up all that well, one side is just touching the bumper and causing things to be aggreviating, besides that they are pretty close. So, I am thinking of going back to the STRIAGHT PIPES, but would consider the LMs.

Thanks,

Micah

A guy who lives near me has a z06 w/longtubes and loudmouth...OMG that thing is loud. When I'm driving, with my windows up, and he is within a 1/4 mile and gets on it, I can hear it!

Timely question... I have the SLP Loudmouths now with Longtube headers... it was louder than the Borla Straight pipes on my stock LS1 motor,,, I loved it...

BUT.. I noticed that you have a cam in your car....I just put a cam/heads in my car and the SLP's are WAYYYY tooo loud, and IMO they don't sound good...they sound like a cross between a Harely and Nascar.... it's not really the loudness or volume...but the exhaust note itself... they were perfect on my stock motor. I set off 2 car alarms last night leaving work in the parking garage, AT IDLE coasting buy in Neutral...after the car was already warmed up.

I am putting on BB PRT's tonight. it's a whole different game when you add a cam

what cam did you go with?

What's a good, VERY streetable and mild cam for my auto c5? Any recommendations? I'd only want to do one if it wouldnt mess with my daily driveablity too much.

Yeah, I understand, if I could get my straight pipes back, I would. I am just into the muffled sound of the Tis.

The CAM I have is a great street cam for my A4...see my profile.

Cant tell ya about the Borlas, but loudmouths with no cats, longtubes and the slp resonated h pipe is WAAAYYY LOUD. My neighbor could hear me a mile away. This was normal driving, not even wot.

I'm now running zo6 catbacks and am much happier with the sound. If you want to be noticed, go with the SLP.

Hey Micah, the SLP Loudmouths are definately louder than Borla Straights. I have the SLP's and have heard the Borla straights in person and while they do sound good, they are just not as loud. With the SLP's I got 128.6 db at an exhaust contest. All I had was a CAI, and Ported throttlebody. I also have the pre-cats and it still was this loud, lol. With a cam, headers, and no cats, this would be NASTY!
