Made my own with weatherstripping from Lowes.... It cost $5 for the box and I only used half..... It keeps water out, but dirt still accumulaes...hmmm sounds just like the high priced one....

I still don't understand the need for these at all, whether they're a do-it-yourself from Lowes or a pay-through-the-nose from a vendor. When I wash my vert, a quick blast of air removes all the water trapped behind the lens. Alternately, a microfiber towel pressed along the base of the lens draws up any excess moisture.
What's the big deal about these things???? They look nice, at least. But I question their real utility.
I too don't see the need for this. My driveway slopes up and when I wash my car with the nose up (normal for pulling in the garage), the water always runs out of my tail lights and mirrors. Never any drips.
Try gravity, IT WORKS !
I have suggested that if you don't have a sloping driveway, pull the front up on the plastic ramps when washing. You won't have any tail light or mirror dripping problems.
Thanks to one of our members who posted in this thread, I revisted some actions that I had taken earlier, and recinded the majority of deletions.
I had been dealing with other threads that were interfering with a vendors sale, and a member who was commenting inappropriately. For simplicity at the time, I deleted the large majority of replies that involved this item.
Thanks for the PM asking for clarification/understanding
