Default Windshield Washer Fluid Ooze

Anybody else have a problem with their windshield washer fluid oozing out around the cap on the reservoir? That seems to be the only thing messing up my clean engine compartment. I keep wiping it off, and each time I look a little more has seeped out. I'm hoping after the level goes down it may not do this. I plan not to fill it back up but keep the level fairly low in the reservoir, as I never really use it anyhow.

The fluid might be expanding as the engine compartment heats up. Try siphioning out some of the fluid.

You've got the right idea in not keeping the reservoir so full. I keep mine about 3/4 full and it seems to avoid the problem.

Definitely don't keep it full. At higher speeds, it can even weep out on your windshield.

I solved the problem by removing the windshield wipers and placing very small caps on the windshield washer nozzles. They haven't leaked a drop since.

There is a hole designed into the cap to let air in/out so the fluid flows correctly. Just don't fill it so hard. I learned the hard way when I was cleaning the bay and leaned on the bottle and a stream of fluid shot up and went all over the drivers side of the bay and the fender.

Yeah, I might have to siphon some out. I never added any, the fluid level is what it was when I bought the car. Come to think of it, I don't remember ever even looking in to see how full it is. I've just been wiping up around the cap.
