HUD question
Can you generically install a heads up display into a c5 that doesnt have one? and if so how much would the projector and all the other parts cost?

Not sure exactly what you mean by "generically", but a HUD can be installed in C5s without one. Following from the C5 Tech Tips section of the Forum:

Can't help you on the cost, but perhaps some of those here who have installed one can.
Good luck!

Yes, my 2000 had one installed 2 weeks ago. See Josh, in C5 parts section, sells everything you need. Great price, great Forum member.
His name is Pacecar I believe. Just did a GP not long ago.
Good Luck!

It can be done. It is not very hard. If you have never done this or taken the dash apart, plan on about 6-8 hours. 2-3 if you know what you are doing.

Hello,
It is me who ran the GP last month. The GP price was $349 shipped, a savings of $100+ over my normal price of $439 PLUS shipping.
As I overordered for the GP, I do have a few kits remaining at the GP price. When they're gone, so is the $349 price.

Just finished installing one this weekend. Bought the one GP from Josh here on the fourm.
Not too hard to do. Just take your time!

This is not a hard install---it just takes a little time and patience. Installed a HUD in my '98 2 years ago. Everything worked out great and the HUD is really
. You can get the parts for $300-$400 unless you need a HUD instrument cluster. Do it, you'll be glad you did....

I did it myself recently using the kit from Pacethis, not hard... just nerve racking cutting out the opening in the dash!
