Rack and pinion why???

ok so after a year of sitting got my car all back together and now the rack and pinion seal is leaking from where the steering connects to the rack. is this common??? i only have 60k miles on my car . could i have done something to it when i put the motor back in? or new alt bracket?

i need to find one cheep anyoner know where to get one for a good price? i have already dropped lots of money on the new motor this sucks!!!!

Haven't had this trouble with my c5's but had a similar problem with a c4...had a slow leak all along a seam that cost me big bucks to fix. Around $500 because I don't do my own work. Good luck.
