I'm thinking about getting a HID kit for my car. I have the C5R headlights from specter werks and I was wondering if it was worth doing the kit or not. I think the 4300K system would be the way to go, but I would like more opinions. If I just did the low beam (9006). would my high beams still work? I also heard that the 4300K HID kit generates less heat than OEM lighting. Is this true? If not can the C5R housings handle the extra heat? Basically I don't have enough light at night.. I need more. Thanks.
I got a kit through a GP here on the forum. And I can say they are a huge improvement over the OE setup. I haven't measured the heat output. But, if you do any driving at night these are great.
Thanks for the reply. Do you remember how much you paid? Who manufactured the kit? Just making sure that when I decide to get a kit I get a complete kit and not a knock off.
I'll let you know if a few weeks when I get a chance to throw my 4300k's in. After driving my buddies Maxima w/ factory HIDs and a new C6 w/ factory HIDs I needed them yesterday.

how come you get to drive... im always stuck riding passenger but at least i get to check out the light output from inside the car. my stockers suck so bad it almost feels like im outrunning the lights at only 75mph. i usually just put on the highs till a car approaches but its still no excuse for quality.
I have the C5R headlights with the stock bulbs as well... It's scary to drive at night. I ordered the 4300K kit and should recieve it by the end of the week.
Mine are going in this weekend My buddy who's an electrical guru and car wizard is doing it for me while I'm in Atlantic City having fun. For payment he gets to have the car for the weekend.
Oh and he has a 600 AWHP 3000GT so I'm not exactly worried what he'll do with the car. His car has 10,000k HIDs
I have the VETTE-HID kit and it is awesome. The light is so much better than the stock lights.
This is money well spent! I have factory HID's in my Infiniti and my Wife's BMW. I installed the Vette-HID set-up this weekend on my Z. Quality/Fit/Finish, it is just as good if not better than the BMW/Infiniti HID's.

Halfway done with them now bro.
(and only 464AWHP/445AWTQ this tune, the new turbos are on thier way though.)
yeah def get 4300k...that is what all oem hid cars have, no offense but with a 12000k kit its probably darker then the original halogen lights, def dont recommend that

Once you get over 6000k the light output really goes down. That 3000gt pictured above has 10000k and it looks killer... but light output is "normal" not amazing. The car looks sinister though.
