Default New Rotors??

The rotors on my 02 have seriously rusty caps. They still have lots of meat on them, though...

I'm wondering, do I paint the rotor caps, or do I replace them?

If replacing them is the way to go, what do you recommend?? I bought a set of drilled/slotted rotors for my '95 from Irotors.com and they were not the best things in the world. They pulsated quite a bit at high speeds.

Thanks, in advance.

here's what I'm talking about, they are pretty clear in this shot

Well, if you like the stock type rotors, send them off to be cleaned and zinc plated. Maybe there is somewhere local that could do it.
Caliper paint will work also, or powdercoating.
Hope this helps.

I do have a local shop that does powder coating, although I'd like to have them Zinc plated, if anything. My only problem is I don't want to lose time with the car.. I almost would rather just buy something new, if that was the case, and keep these as spares..

I see a lot of vendors selling slotted(and drilled) rotors, but I don't know if I want to go with another cheap set.

Another option (that doesn't involve down-time) is to install hub covers, such as these, from Ecklers:
http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...0DDW22J5NPEPD7
http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...dept%5Fid=1408

I have a set of fronts available in black (unused). PM me if interested.

For $16 apiece you could get new rotors from Rockauto.com and get some high temperature black barbeque (sp?) paint at the harware store and paint the hat section of the rotors. The paint would probably hold up to all street driving.

What kind of brake pads do you run? The discs look like mirrors..

That, I couldn't tell you. I just got the car 3 weeks ago and haven't swapped anything yet.
