Good question. I would have thought that the C5 would not go up based on production numbers, but it looks like for 69 there were roughly 39K built which equals the production numbers of today.

better question, where one would find the gasoline to run a gas powered internal combustion engine in 40 years.

In 40 years, I'll be 86. Not gonna worry about it. If I'm still alive, someone else will be doing the driving!

I'll be 86 and the only thing I'll be worrying about is whether or not my adult diaper is filling up on me again!!

Hi ET -
Since they made a very limited number of those cars, it makes sense that they could appreciate.
There were so many C5's made as to make them non collectible in my opinion.
I don't suppose a servicable STOCK C5 will ever go much below $15k. That is just my guess.
best regards -

what might shake out in the future is the valuation for '06 and beyond 427 ZO6s. The larger displacement and higher initial cost and the potential limited future of large displacement engines due to oil concerns may create a rarity situation that increases it's value. Other than that, I can't imagine any C5 appreciating to that scale as you reference to the quite rare L88.

This would be my guess. i think it will be hard just to find gas in the future. it will all be hydrogen power
