I painted my calipers with the gm torch red touch up paint and clear coat about a year ago. I like having an exact color match to the car and I haven't had any problems with the paint, but I can't keep it clean. I usually use dawn to clean my wheels and have used eagle 1 wheel cleaner too. Nothing seems to work to get them clean. I was planning on repainting them soon and I was wondering if there was a different clear coat I could put on them that would be easier to keep clean.
I put ceramic pads on when I first painted the calipers and have about 12,000 miles since. This is a daily driver.

I would imagine waxing them after the paint dries or using something like Rejex woudl help a lot. Hmmm, now I am wondering how heat would react with those products. I am sure ET would know. Chime back in here buddy?

Simple Green...
As for keeping them clean? You may want to paint them again... the brake dust is fine, it gets into every nook and cranny.... a fresh coat awt to help...
I will get some simple green and that Castol purple cleaner to try. I put on new hawk brake pads last weekend. Between breaking those in and two days of rain, I have plenty of brake dust to attempt to clean up. I am going to repaint them, but I want to be able to keep them clean for a while after I repaint them this time.

I agree! HA! I just added Eradispeeds +, chromed brackets and red calipers. It takes longer to clean the wheels than the rest of the car... But, they look awesome when rolling down the road. I suppose I will be removing the wheels on a monthy basis to make sure everything is shiney.
I use Simple green or Castrol's Purple Cleaner, both work well on my Z06.

Is the purple cleaner OK to use on painted calipers? It says on the bottle not to use on painted surfaces or wheels. I thought I might give it a try anyways since I am going to repaint the calipers and get new wheels soon.
i got the powder coated ones from mike the powdercoater and all i do is spray some sheel cleaner on the wheels and calipers and all the dust comes right off.
