Glass top here, and the stock tint doesn't seem to do enough on hot sunny days, I've seen those cling-on sheets for additional tint, but, can the roof be tinted at a shop just like all the other windows?

My brother's been tinting for 19 years and owned his own shop for about 15 years now...
I asked him a while back for another member...
He said, it wasn't advised. The shape and contours in the top would not allow the film to sit right for too long. Eventually, you'd have "creepers" < the are like runs when air gets under the film >
Only thing I can tell you is to get one of those static cling, perforated type shades... I think Mid America sells 'em...

DON'T BUY A SUNSHADE!!!
I live in Florida and hated getting so hot during the summer. I bought the lined clip in liner which worked for a little while then warped and fell down. I then bought the static cling shade and the results of using both was accelerated top crazing. The top was fine before I used anything, but after a summer with the static cling and clip in liner the top looks horrible and will never be the same. Your best bet is to spend the money and get a solid top. I searched for 8 months to get a mag red top. I LOVE IT! It is well worth the money for those of us who live where it is HOT. If you can't find a matching top, just get a black one as it looks just like the clear one.
Are you talking about glass convertable top??? Or is it ok to tint a rear conv. glass window??
Good question! Mine isn't tinted AT ALL (in Phoenix, that's just not right! ) and I am planning on doing 20% all around - including the rear glass convertible window.
I never even considered it might not be a good idea...

The static cling shade I was talking about is nor tint...
It's a piece of material (like vinyl or something) with millions of perforations in it... like a sheer roll up shade.
i have the static cling and hate it just took it off .I could never get it on right always bubbbles wasted my money.. Best thing to do is like the other member said if is a coupe and you got one put your hard top on on really hot days.. I have both tops I love the glass one, but in summer I'm going back to hard top .
I just put one of the static cling sheets from MidAmerica in a couple of weeks ago. They're not too expensive, less than $30. I haven't really driven it in the sun enough to make a definite statement, but the initial impressionis that it will make a difference. It's not hard to install, but getting the wrinkles out is a pain, and I didn't get them all out. The look isn't as good as it should be beacause of that. Also, it comes in two colors, gray and black. I bought the gray and after putting it in, I think I should have gone with the black. the black would blend in better with the tinted glass top. My limited experience and my $.02

My solution...I live in Texas and have both tops. When the temperatures reach 80-90+ range I switch to my solid top until they return back down (July - September). The rest of the time I use the tinted top, but I do have a modification. I purchased one of those collapsible nylon mesh screens made for a rear window of a car...almost fits perfectly in the top opening. It attaches with suction cups, looks good, and really works.
