Went to the dealer to set up an appointment for warranty work and saw a 2004 Silver, Black Int., Auto, chromed stock wheels, Casette player, rest of the usual with 23,500 miles and discounted from KBB, on sale for $39,800...Car appears to be stock
I asked the salesman how low they'll go off the asking price and he said maybe 2k. He said they don't last long and they ususally get close to the asking price. Sounds good to me...summers coming.
Never ever believe a used car salesman He's lying through his teeth. I live close to a car lot and has a ZO6 black low miles that has been sitting on the lot for over 3 months and they told me the same thing.
They also have a blk vert. with low miles and it's been sitting for 2 months! They both look awesome and are showcased so I can see them every time I drive by. When the price is reasonable they move off the lot, but when they are ridiculous...they sit.

That price is insane. You could have bought it new for less than that. I paid 45K for my loaded MN6 MY vert BRAND NEW. I wish it was still worth that but I'm not going to delude myself.
Dealer in our area moves Vettes on a regular basis - they don't sit except in the winter. He just had an '04 Z16 for $49,900 - and it went within 2 weeks. Car only had 700 miles, but still.
He had 5 Vettes that all sold in the last few weeks. Has one '04 left (just a coupe with automatic ) for $39K with almost 12,000 miles.
It seems to me that these cars might hold their value better in places like Arizona, Texas, Cali, Florida, etc where you can drive them all year round.

Right now the retail KBB on mine here is $46,575.
I checked MN, where I grew up, and it's $45,400.
Not a ton difference, but still less.
Checked my Y2k vert, 8k miles, it's up almost 4k from Jan
'Vettes seem to always be stong in California
