I drove the 'vette the other night for the first time in awhile. Couldn't believe how dim the headlights are. For a $45k+ vehicle, you'd think GM could've given us better nighttime vision. Without spending tons of $$, what are some cost-effective replacement options?
Hey, Huck! I realized after a few late night road trips that our stock beams are rated for 55mph w/ the high beams and 45 mph w/ the lows.
I checked into Eckler's and bought a set of the Hyper Blue hi-output headlamps. $20 bucks a peice, but worth the investment. Gets you to 75mph low beam and 80+ with the high.
Remember, they're $20 a peice, not per pair! I made that mistake, and had to wait another week for the other 2 to show up!
All I gotta do now is aim the hi-beams. They show the bats in the tree tops pretty well, but I need it on the road!
The also have Hyper White, if you don't dig the 'blue' look.
If you are looking for HIDs. You should take a look at TByrnes special. They said it is their regular price. This is an extremely good deal on these lights. They are made by ACA and the kit is top-notch. Here is the link to their sale.

You can get PIAA bulbs and replace your 9006s. They are the best I had used in all my cars.
An HID conversion is also available - either you add a ballast and bulb to your system ($300-$400) or buy the whole package ($900-$1500). Southerncarparts is offering a GP, Im so close to jumping on this bandwagon.
A true-HID system with adaptive headlamps is still out of the question. Would love to see one for the Vette since even cheaper cars like the Mini have 'em.
