My '04 with 18000 miles has a Kelly trade in value of 36k and a private party value of 39k. Not bad for a 3 year old Z06 that I paid 44k new. But, I'm not selling.

Wow! You got a great deal on your car.
My neighbor bought his '04 Z06 for $47K (with rebate) plus GA sales tax. His final price drive-out price was $50,250.
The first owner of my car paid $53.1K (total; invoice was in glove box).
I posted this because on the C6 General board they are lamenting the depreciation they are experiencing on the C6. I think we are holding our own. Totally loaded vert trade in is $43k with 1000 miles on it. What did they pay for it, 62k? OUCH. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1378832
FYI...
Local dealer here in South Florida had an 04 Z16 (Comm Ed.) with just under 11k on the clock asking $44.3k. Here is South Florida, Z's have a small premium going right now.
This will make you all laugh a little...
I had a guy looking (or drooling) at my Z06. My boss was walking by the guy and asked him if he liked my car. The guy proceeded to tell my boss that my 2001 Z06 was worth $80k! I wish they guy would have offered me that! I would have sold it in a heartbeat and bought 2 Z06's with mods.
My 2003 Z06 is listed as being worth $38k for a private party sale. It only has 2700 miles. What Kelly Blue Book didn't take into account was the premium color, MY and that I added tire pressure sensors. Also other little goodies but I don't expect to get much back for them.
A lot of it has to do with your zip code, too. The car might be cheaper if it was somewhere .....else.
Your right. I just ran my car where I live and in Los Angeles, CA and it was worth $1,600 more in LA without changing anything but the zip code. I didn't know there would be that much difference.
