in either case, probably depends several factors which include, in no order: final drive ratio, driver's intestinal fortitude, available space (off road please) for the run, weather conditions, et cetera. i'll yield to the experts to provide theoretical or empirical data. bub
What will kill a mouse deader, a .458 Winchester Magnum, or a .460 Weatherby Magnum? That's about what it amounts to. And how often are you going to be hunting mice with either, for one thing.

very trivial i know, but just curious. was in an argument or i should say, a small disagrement with a guy at work. i knew the coupe was faster by a few mph
However – everything beyond the 170mph mark takes a lot of open road (I nearly had to go 11 miles WOT to reach my personal topspeed of 182mph!) in my 2002 Z51 A4 Coupe.
It is, at least for me, way more impressive to see the difference between C5 and C5 Z06 when accelerating at 120+mph. 120-150mph is unbelievable quicker in a Z06 compared to my A4 (due to the ********** gearing of my 4th gear)…

172 the first time...........before I chickened out.
176 the second time.............the car was still pulling.........but I chickened out again.
As to your 4th gear.............120-150mph..........im still in third gear.
That's with 3.42 gearing.
at 120 MPH you're not even close to pushing your A4 if yorue already in 4th gear.
Unless you have something like a 4.11 rear gear.
Shift point is 5,800 rpm (=140mph according to my GPS). As soon as the car shift's into 4th not only the Z06 starts pulling really bad, but also my stock daily driver (Mercedes W210 E55 without topspeed limiter) puts several car lengths on my way lighter C5 before the C5 catches up again at around 170mph.
