First ticket in the vette...
After 6 years of driving my C5 I got my first ticket yesterday.
6 years of driving with a license plate of GOZ2FST - I get my first ticket.
....for "Failure to come to a complete stop before turning right at a red light".
Pretty wimpy, eh?
This is about as embarrasing as when I broke my arm playing badminton.
The CHP liked my plate though.

If you're at a regular traffic light I don't believe you have to come to a complete stop for a right turn anymore in California. For 4 way stops and non functioning lights, yea complete stop.
Got one of those myself many years ago. Lame excuse for a ticket!

Sounds like they may want to issue you a new plate.

That's amazing. What happens to pedestrians trying to cross with green?

I'm actually knew about this law - and usually stop. Heck, I even stop for stop signs. Maybe this is my karma catching up with me for maybe driving a little fast coming back from Monterey.....

Sure you do. You're mistaken.

Maybe youz GOZ2FST to come to a complete stop before turning right at a red light. Thus, no reason to change your plate.

Thank you! Just what I was thinking. I can't tell you how many close calls I see with people crossing the main street in front of the building I work in because they roll up to the stop looking one way and don't see the pedestrian stepping off the curb. Most of them are inexperienced teenage drivers from the high school down the street though.

sorry for your misfourtune, but this is becoming a major issue. I see it more and more everyday. People make a half azzes attempt to slow down but don't even think about stopping. Stop means stop, not slow down.
again sorry you got caught.
