The 99 Nassau Blue M6 Coupe from a previous thread. Rather than type everything again, see the following link: http://www.speeddensity.org/showthread.php?t=1696

Needless to say, it was a heck of a ride getting it done. All is well now, just have to do registration on Saturday and start driving her (legally)!!!

Initial impressions: Needs a shifter. Bad.

Welcome to the family. That story ranks up there with some of the most terrifying first time father stories I've heard.

Thought about it, but nope. B&M. Have a buddy with a 00 Coupe show car and the second I moved his B&M around I was sold.

PICTURES!!!!!!!

http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...tbird93/Vette/

You can see our Purple Pearl 93 T/A (rare color) in some pics, and a couple that look into the garage you can see my poor neglected (while the 900+ HP blower motor is being built at least) black 93 T/A tucked away. No motor pics as the engine bay is VERY dirty and I haven't managed to detail that yet.

Couple of questions on the Vette: On the drivers side floor, the floor-mat retainers. The inside one is broken. Is it possible to replace this??

The console box latch is broken. Anyone have an idea on what that costs to fix??

I only have one key and fob. I'm finding that the fobs range from $80 to $130 at various places, but what about a new key to have as a backup?

As for the car overall, it's in great shape. Not perfect, but really nice. I just got done washing it myself and had a chance to really go over it in good light. There's some scratches and scuffing on the bottom and front corners of the nose that aren't terrible, and some chips along the underside of the rocker panel. The front body side molding piece on the driver fender needs to be removed and reseated at the proper angle. The carpet could stand a good shampooing. That's about it really. I'm VERY pleased with the car. It drives great, albeit a little louder in the inside than I expected.

The car makes a funky rattle when it starts which I'm assuming has to do with a starter fix that was performed, and it does the rattle when turning the motor off without the clutch pedal in, but that's just the throwout bearing and doesn't concern me. Like I said though, I'm very pleased.

So in the immediate forseeable future, my plans are the following (can't spend too much as I'm in the midst of a $20K motor build): 20% tint, HUD, Full blackout kit, Shifter, tail light seals (if they'll work with the blackouts). Would like to do a set of floor mats in black (to offset the lt grey) with a cargo mat along with at least the brushed vette logo inner door sill set.

I'm happy!! This is me now that it's setting in that I actually own a Corvette:

WOW, what an adventure! I'm sure glad you finally made it home, what a wild adventure. You can replace the floor mat retainer, they usually just screw in, check your local parts store for them. As far as the key fob, I have one you can have free if it's a match. PM me the number on the back of your fob and I'll check it against the one I have. If it doesn't match you can get them on eBay pretty cheap.

Here's another question: The front license plate cover: What size (thread/pitch) screws go in there??? Mine was NOT bolted in and I'm extremely surprised we didn't lose it en-route to home today.

apparently NJ cops have nothing better to do .
A friend of mine , went up there for the same reason , to buy a car .
the car had been parked for a while , so tags are expired .
the guys lets him keep the tags to drive to TN .
no sooner he leaves this guy's placxe , he gets pulled over and ticketed for having expired tags .
All the explaining he tried about jut driving the car to title it in TN did not help .the cop was a real a$$ , and he too had all the paperwork .

did I mention how wonderful my friend thought NJ was ?

Glad you made it home OK . now enjoy the new ride

That was quite an adventure - but at least you now have the Vette at home. Congrats.

Just Damn Man,

Sure glad you got the car home safely. I can't believe the total BS you had to go thru. You sure seem like you're taking it in stride. Anyway, welcome to the forum and congrats on the new ride.
