Default Door Control Module compatibility

Just wanted to share a little info with any of you who may have the same problem I had. <--emphasis on HAD.

Ever since I bought my 2000 used in Nov -03 the passenger door would not lock. Unlocking it worked just fine, you could hear the module click when pressing lock but the actuator would not function. The warranty was already up at this point as well.

I took off the door panel to check for anything loose or unplugged but all was well. I realized that it must be the DCM unit itself.

There have been several helpful posts explaining that the problem with the module is a relay or some two-buck part in it that needs to be R&R'd with a soldering iron.

I didn't want to get into all that so I have been on the lookout for used DCMs on ebay or in the C5 parts section of the forum.

It arrived today and I noticed that there are two sets of numbers on it. The first larger number appears to be a part number and the other number may be a serial number. The larger number matched on both units.

I popped the door panel off and plugged it in...success! I now have fully-functional door locks. It took all of 10 minutes to take the door panel off, swap modules, and snap the door panel back on.
