At this point we are really just looking, I would like to get a late model C5 Vert and don't know if there were any problem years or certain years that may be better (due to option changes).

I am currently enjoying my first C5(00 MY vert)I hear they got better after that.My C4s feel like big pigs now.
I love my '92, I drove a forum members 2002 vert not too long ago and it drove great. I think the C4 feels sportier but that could just be because it rides crappier too
We just decided we want a vert and the C5 vert has the waterfall that we like and a small trunk. We are partial to certain colors: Mag Red, Electron Blue, Black and the darker Greys.
Right now we are just window shopping but I usually make a move shortly after I start looking at something unless it's out of my price range.

In the '01 model year with a manual tranny, you might find one with an oil consumption problem. Other than that, seems like any year from '98 on would be OK. Some changes were made as the years went on like HP and torque increases, option/standard equipment changes, etc.
My Black on Black 6 sp gave way to a 98 Sebring Silver 6 sp long ago AND
Now with 22,000 miles on her clock I have had one tire sensor go south,
Nothing else but normal maintance and tender loving care,...
AND I am getting used to the color...!!
So much easier to keep it looking clean... Pollen is still problemmatic but at least I am the only one who knows the car is dirty (when driven at speed)...
