The car is all back together and on the road now. I put the v710s on the car and went for a short test drive since I've never driven on a competition tire and took a few shots of her in the driveway. (Run-craps to regular tires - regular tires to competition tires ) I'm still using the Kumho MXs on Z06 Motorsport wheels for normal street use so don't worry. For now, I've just got some minor details to work out before my 1st AutoX event of the season. New waterpump to fix leak (in the mail). Install the Wilwood calipers (brakelines in the mail to replace defective ones). So say a prayer that the MPS come through and delivers things in time.
yes, that is a trailer hitch you see under there.
there full size versions of these pictures and more Here
wow; i didn't recognize the state for that license plate . i like the driver's seat; for my part, over the shoulder both sides seat belts should be standard in corvettes. pretty crazy tires. pray tell, at what speed does one drive that car on the autobahn? bub
Just the pictures posted on my website. In 2004 Nurburgring banned all on-track photography and videos, so no videos for me. I am looking into a bullet cam that I can hide in the car (and even if they catch me with it, it's my last summer here so no big deal). Should have a few laps taped later this summer.
The driver's seat is awesome (once you're in it). Add in helmet/HANS device and I'm about as safe as I can be. Full cage is coming after I get back to the states. I do leave it in the car full time, but as a caution to others, it's a royal pain for day-to-day driving. Very hard to get in-and-out, very restrictive once you're in it, and if you are even a normal size person, don't even think about it cause you won't fit (they do make wider versions). Also, the seat is designed to work with a harness and since the stock belt can't go through the slots on the side it would have to rest on top so it's not up against your body like it should be, and using a harness is not legal in many places (not DOT approved)
On unrestricted parts of the Autobahn, i usually cruise at around 100-110mph, but if I'm in a hurry I'll kick it up to whatever speed I feel safe at. Top speed was 180mph on the speedometer, had plenty of room for more, but the car wouldn't go any faster
Looks great! I really like the black on red. Ever consider lowering it a bit?
those tires are smaller than my normal once and it just got off of jack stands so the suspenion hasn't really had a chance to settle yet, so it looks higher than it is. I've already got it down a little more than 1/2" from stock. Any more than that and you start to mess with suspension geometry and hurt performance more than help it.
