Default Connecticut (Steve) does it again

A big thanks to Connecticut (Steve), his uncle Jim and his friend Steve for the header install they did this Saturday.

I got the Dynatech Supermaxx system and had sent them out for jet-hot coating. I got the system from Corvette Garage and specified that I needed them for an 04. Well, I don't know the difference between the system for the early C5 and my 04 so I thought I was good to go. However, I got the wrong system!! The O2 extensions were wrong and the passenger header was for the early C5 with the inlet for the air tube in the wrong spot and a boss for the dipstick tube.

Well, Steve had every thing just about disassembled when we realized this. So his uncle extended the O2s by splicing and soldering in extra wire, and Steve took the air tube off his own Vette to get the install done! Because of this the install took a lot longer then it should have. I sent corvette garage an e-mail about the error and I am waiting to hear back from them.

The headers are great; there is a definite SOTP gain and response. I have the corsa pace car mufflers so when just cruising they are still on the quiet side, however hit the gas and it comes alive.

Here are some pics of the install:

My O2 connector

Then one i was sent:

Almost done:

Way to go Steve. Sounds like you saved the day!

But no thanks to Corvette Garage. Corvette Garage, you should pay these guys labor for your HUGE mistake!

I know how you guys feel. I ordered a cam from Comp last week, XER273HR. I received a XR273-12. Two totally different cams! Rrrrrrrr , annoying to say the least.....................so I had to weld the lobes up for a build up and re-grind the cam myself!
Kidding about the last part...

It may not be Corvette garage's fault, since they may drop ship them from the manufacture, I need to find my paper work and see what was sent. However, I am still waiting to hear back from Corvette garage to see what they are going to do about the mix up.
