Default Operating temp

Hope this is not a silly question guys but I could use an answer. What is considered normal opertaing temp for the LS6. I noticed mine pushing the 200F mark when I was driving in some light traffic but then the needle settled back down to around 190 after I began open road driving.

Stock motor runs at 190-194 when fully up to temp and at highway speeds. In stop-and-go you'll see temps higher than that, which do absolutely no harm. Some owners get nervous about those higher temps. I don't because I find them perfectly normal and characteristic of the car. The low-speed fan comes on around 225 followed by the high-speed fan at 235. That's the way Chevy engineered the system.
