Oil life

My first post and of course its for help...
I changed the oil for the first time when the DIC got down to 50%. I reset the DIC to recalculate the oil life by displaying the oil life in the DIC and hitting the reset button. The DIC went to a ____% and all seemed well, but when I checked it later it was back to 50%. I tried resetting again and it then recalculated 49%!!!!
What's the dang deal here? Am I short on brains, or is the car!

Use the same procedure just don't start the car. Car should be in key on, engine off mode. Hope that helps.

for some reason the car wnats to have the motor off to do the reset correctly
