Default Rear center caps falling off.

I recently purchased a 2000 convertible that has thin 5 spokes wheels from a later year Vette. About a week after I got the car one of the rear center caps fell off. I ordered a new set off of ebay and installed them yesterday. When I was putting them on I found that the rears do not fit on correctly. The cap hits axle shaft so the caps do not clip all the way on to the wheel. I lost one of my new ones today.

Anyone have this problem?

Are these wheels not correct for my car?

Is there any fix?

Haven't heard of a problem like this before. Sorry, wish I could help but would be interested in hearing why this is happening on the one wheel.

Upon closer inspection I found that it was not the axel shaft hitting the center cap. The wheel has a flaw the does not allow the cap to fully go into the wheel. I ground about 1/8 of an inch off of the plastic cap and it now goes onto the wheel fine. Now I need to get one replacement cap to match the other three with a logo.
