I need to replace the interior driver's side A-pillar trim panel on my '99 C5. I need to hear from anyone who has removed and/or replaced this piece and has instructions/advice on how to do it. I have a new trim panel coming. Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Try browsing some of the web sites of companies that may sell the pillar. They possibily may have "how to" instructions. You could also try some of the supporting vendors that sell interior products...they may help even if you aren't a customer. Good luck.

Just pull it straight towards you. There are three tabs with metal retainers that hold it together by friction alone. If you can't get a good grip, use a pry bar of some kind to get it started (just be sure not to scratch anything. Check out the HUD install instructions, I started my HUD install last night and had to remove these to get the dash out.
You guys are great! Thanks for replies, I'll be replacing it today (and feeling much better about it.)
BTW, just so you know what happened: The knucklehead doing the car inspection got in it to scrape off an old decal and ran his razor blade across it cutting it open.
