Default Road racing wheel size selection?

I am going to track my car and was wondering if I should go with larger wheels/tires on the front/rear or stick with the stock sizes?

I have read that the stock SC f1 are good to start off with...then when you are reading to step it up, you can go with some track tires...

same for autoX

It all depends on what tire brand and size you want to use. I use Kumho V710's for autocross. 315/35/17 front. 335/35/17 back. For the streets and some DE events I use the stock size wheels. Toyo RA1 tires. 275/40/17 305/35/18

Given the relatively limited number of available sizes of track tires, you should really consider tire selection when thinking about wheel size so you don't buy expensive wheels then find the tire you want isn't available in the size that fits your new wheels. For example, given no other contraints, I'd probably choose an 18x10 front wheel with a 295/30-18 tire, but neither the Kumho V710 or Hoosier R6 come in that size though it is available from Michelin in the Pilot Sport Cup. For the rear, I like the 315/35-17 on 17x11 but that tire is available from Kumho and not from Michelin.

I race on 17x10 front and 17x11 rear due to rules limitations and have run either 275/40-17 front, 315/35-17 rear or 315/35-17 all around. I've also tracked the car numerous time on the stock sized wheels. All these combo's have worked fairly well.

I'd suggest you track it a few times on the stock wheels and tires to get your feet wet, then decide on upgrading wheels and tires.
