I have put a bottle in on my last 2 fill ups, and my gas gauge works (sometimes), is it ok to put in another bottle on my next fill up or should I run a full tank of gas through?
Also I bought my 2000 vette 2 months ago and the gas gauge didn't work then. The dealership agreed to fix it. I told them I'd try to fix it with techron 1st. It is currently working now, but on the last fill up it quit working for the 1st 100 miles. I am a little worried, cuz I bought it from a Nissan Dealership. They have a certified GM mechanic also, but I don't know how much he works on GM cars. Should I be worried or not?
It's O.K. to put in another bottle. Won't hurt anything. I put a few ounces of fuel treatment in my car every 3-5 fill ups. No probs with the system or the fuel sending unit.
Don't know what to say about your stealership dilemma, though.

Don't think it would hurt anything, but I would get something in writing from the dealership that they will fix the problem (if you haven't already gotten a written promise). Just nice to cover your behind.
My Y2K also had the same dreaded fuel sender problem. Here is my solution:
1. Use Techron. I believe it takes more than 1 bottle to treat a tankfull. Read the instructions.
2. Use Chevron gas if you can. Has Techron y'know. Someone told me that BP may be using Chevron gas or Techron in BP gas or something.
3. Most important! Use all your gas so the entire range of the sending unit is "scraped". This is why the problems often start at 1/2 tank or less where most of us fill up.
4. Always drive at 97 mph. This is the optimal speed to shake the corrosion from the unit.
Seriously, my gauge was worthless. Your post reminded me that I used to have that problem. Almost always works. Good luck and be patient. It may tkake a few tanks.
I would suggest using Chevron gas if it's available in your area as well. I switched teporarily at one point and used shell for a while ... and had my first fuel gague issue.
If I don't have a chevron close I'll use 2 bottles of techron about every 4th tank and I have not had a fuel guage problem since.
When I had my problem, I put in 2 containers ran the tank down. Put in 1 container in the next full tank. No more problems, for the next 3 years (98 Vert) Put in 1 container about every 4th fill up after that.
Much cheaper and safer than letting the Goodiewench people rip your car apart.
I know that many here say they have solved their gas gauge problems with Techron or some other cleaners, but I believe the issue is sometimes a defective sending unit and if the dealer says they will fix it I'd let them because your gauge problem could be the same as mine.
My gauge failed last summer and I was able to show the dealer the failure, but decided not to bring it in for repair until the winter. This is what they found and fixed. From the service invoice:
"Gas gauge erratic DTC Code PO463. And DRC PO455 Large leak detected. Performed an evap leak test and found a leak at the top of the right side tank from the R/H seal and R/R right tank and replaced RH Tank seal. DTC 4632 Diagnosed LH Sender and found sensor shorted necessary to Replace LH Fuel tank and sender since couldn't pull sender out of LH fuel tank. Reinstalled RH/LH tank and tested fuel system."
I thought the Techron had fixed my problems as well, but now I am glad I brought it in. Once you walk away from that Datsun dealer's waranty you are on your own.
If it were me and the dealership agreed to fix it, I would certainly take them up on their offer. Even though the Techron may be helping, there could be alot more wrong, which could cost you $$$, especially if you didn't get an extended warranty.

How much money were those repairs? (I have been fighting this issue for about 1 year)
