Default knock sensor replace on a 98 vette

Hey guys. I have a check engine light going off in my car. I checked the code and it is a knock sensor (front). I went to the dealer and they have two different kinds for the year of my car. They said the only difference is one has a locator. If anyone knows which one I should get, please let me know. Also if anyone has a used one I wouldn't be opposed to saving some money insted of buying from the stealership. I also need some instruction on where and how to replace it. I would apperciate any help. Thank you.

There are 2 knock sensors, front and back.

The knock sensors are either 1st or 2nd generation.

Go to napa and buy 2 of each generation. 4 total. (35 each)
Also buy 2 of the 2nd generation wire harnesses. (5 each)
Also need to replace intake manifold gaskets (13 bucks)

-Remove intake manifold enough to reach the knock sensors.
-Remove the connector from the knock sensors. Use the wire harness you bought to judge how to undo the connection.

- remove knock sensors
-clean oil out of holes.
-install the new sensors. If you broke the wire harness connector in the process of removal install the new wire harness.

-place a good layer of high temp rtv around the plug and the hole that the wire passes through to keep oil out

- replace intake manifold gaskets (it says to do this in the service manual)

reinstall intake manifold, torque to 11ft lbs with thread lock.

Return the napa parts you didn't use.

Then again, I did all this and still have P0327.

You probably need to remove the intake manifold most of the way. Be very carefull, you will be amazed at how much dirt, debris, etc. there is under it, and all 8 cylinders are wide open. Plug the cylinder openings and vacuum/clean the area thoroughly. New i/m gaskets are probably not needed unless you have been having problems. These gaskets are more like rubber o-rings than paper-type gaskets. They are pretty resilient and reuseable.
