I hit a pothole on my way to lunch , ate and came out to find the '02 sitting in a puddle of oil ! No oil on the dipstick. I had it towed to a friends house so we can put it on his lift . If it is a hole in the pan , can this be fixed by a couple of back yard wrenchheads or should I take it to the dreaded dealer ? If it isnt the oil pan, where else should I look ? Also, does anyone have any pics of the underside of their C5 ?
The oil filter sits fairly low, please keep us posted good luck with the repairs.
You could have just punched a small hole in the filter, hope that is it. Remove it and see if it is dry too, and then look it over real good. It happened to me with another car I owned. It took me a few quarts of oil and a coupl eof days of driving it to find that a little lift and some investigating goes much further.
Well the leak turned out to be a crack in the oil pan . I tried to find a new one but they wanted way too much $ . One place wanted 900.00 and I had to drive 3hrs to get it . Well, that didnt happen. I took it to a shop and had it welded , put it back on and no more leak ! Whew
