The tendency is to chrome wheels and drilled-slotted rotor. Ok I admit, I’m even if I like chrome wheels and drilled-slotted rotor I took a different path. I have OEM rotor and black wheels.
The think I like polished are suspension parts. What I like the most is the polish knuckle. I was on a ride with some vette friends and they told me that the knuckle was looking very good when the car was running. They could see it shining across the turning wheel.
Just in case it gives you some polishing ideas....
The picture does not give full credit, but it can give you an idea. Do not pay attention to the weels. This is my racing set of wheels.

After some cleaning:
and with some polishing:
This is what gave me the idea and where I started. Because I saw Polished rear lower A-Arm from some other forum member. Sorry for the oil on the pipe. I just finished replacing the oil diff.
^^^^This is serious polishing. Great job. This is after looking of pictures like theses that I started my polishing 101 self training. Did you do the knuckle? My corsa hide most of the suspension parts. The knuckles are visible when the car is in the street. This is what I like the most. Maybe one day, I will be able to get it done like yours... I need to the the middle part at the EBTCM and the brackets now...

I use simple green + pressure washer + compressed air for cleaning. I start with sand paper then I use a grinder + a rag disk and a polishing stick I bought at local auto part store.

I use 3M surface conditioning discs, sand a little smoother then buff out using brown tripoli rouge and green rouge for gloss.
You are on the right track. (the white rouge is for fine detail) If you have access to get under it, it will shine
im sorry but why, honestly do you really think its smart to poslish and out of all places under the car, you must really have a lot of free time on your hand to keep it up...
and yes i polished my entire bike and it was the biggest mistake i ever made, dont get me wrong it looks good at first but if you dont keep it up like repolish everyweek if you drive it everyday then forget about it.. i guess if its a show car or sits in the garage all week then fine

I polished underneath, because I can, I have the tools, and access to a lift, nothing to do with smart.
I drive it normally, and once in a great while, I brighten it up with some Mothers, it stays shiney here, not much rain or?...I enjoy doing it, and it's not a bother.
And...I'm not alone, there are several others here like this one.
i recently met a guy when i rescued some vette wheels off a pontiac that had spent 40 hours polishing his catbacks, x pipe and tubes-
it looked amazing but ...40 hours amazing? for something you just dont see fully to appreciate?
THIS ON THE OTHERHAND will be the lasting memory: seared white-hot- into their brain,
as you pull away leaving them to curse the demon spawn that spoiled them the chance to ride inside one vs dusted outright by one

The point I wanted to highlight was the knuckles. My friends commented that they are highly visible when the car is on the street. You can see the knuckle shining. They even filmed it. It is on the same philosophy than the wheels and rotors. This is very visible. When I get to the car, the sunshine is reflecting on it. I’m telling you it looks great.
Yes. I had plenty of time since it was one of my winter projects. And yes, most of it cannot be seen.
My C5 is a daily driver and I just clean the knuckles when I wash the car with a rag.
If I would polish only one part that will be the knuckle. I’m telling you if you like chrome wheels and rotors, polish the knuckle. That goes with the combo.
