I tried some Duplicor texture paint and wasn't real happy with the result. With more practice I probably could have done a better job with it, though. Whatever you try, I'd suggest a trial run on some extra materials, first.

It's for a flat aluminum dash I'm making for my kit car - not the vette. I knew I had seen someone post it here but couldn't find it.
You can find the textured coating at any local auto body shop suppliers (look in your local yellow pages).
They also have different thickness of texture.
If you go with 3M, they have 'green' and 'yellow' labeled cans, I believe the 'yellow' is the milder of the two.
Like rcs128 said, be sure and do a test run first on a separate panel.
The texture on a C5 is molded in...there are hundreds of different textures that can be used . when the initial design is made. a texture is then picked from the texture pallet and then a mold is created to make the part... the cavities of the mold are then acid etched to conform to the exact pallet texture, then all the parts made from this mold are molded with the same texture in the cavity impressions. Once an interior texture is picked, all the part in the interior get the same treatment. texture is NOT in the paint
