I just got my windows tinted on my 01 coupe, but nobody I talked with would add the precious tinting film to the plexi/lexan targa roof panel because they say the film won't adhere properly. I can respect that I guess, so what's a guy to do? Summer's approaching and I can already feel the sun's rays are going to be annoying unless I do something. I didn't want to pop for the painted roof ($$$) and was hoping there's an interim solution. Anyone resolve this problem?
I bought one of those static cling things that block out the sun's uv rays and keeps the interior cooler. I put it on according to the directions, went on great, looked good, no air bubbles.
The first day in the sun it fell off, crumpled itself into a ball on the passenger seat, and somehow shrunk. Now it doesn't fit very well and I can't get the air bubbles smoothed out of it. It cost about $25.

Solid top. I think it makes the car look much better, have noticed a bit cooler inside temps, and it makes you feel like you're in a sports car (more enclosed)

Obviously getting a solid top would be the best option. A lot of the vendors sell items that are designed to block the sun's rays, but I've never tried them to know how well they work.
Sometimes you can find a really good deal on solid tops in the Parts for Sale section - may want to keep an eye open there if you don't find something else.
