Now, I have a stock air intake, and maybe it would prevent water getting into an aftermarket intake. BUT.... you can spray small amounts of water directly in to the intake and it won't hurt anything. In fact, it will "steam clean" the cylinders. Now, just how much water do people think they would suck up without the hood seal? Surely not enough to cause any real problem.

But it does keep water out of your Blackwing, Halltech Stinger-R or blower air filter.

The Performance Hood Seal has given me the most horsepower of all the mods I've done since I picked up my Corvette.

I documented my install and horsepower gains here...

in the tutorial, it says you made a double layer, which means if you gain 100 RWHP, its now 200 RWHP, hence the HP multiplies times 2, or 50X2 making it a total of 100 RWHP!

lol

if for no other reason... its making up for the fact that GM did NOT put one on at the factory, so you're just doing it for them... performance increase? Hell no, but it makes sense to have one there... every other car does, why shouldn't the vette?
